Baudville Launches Employee Appreciation Day Gifts Contest on Pinterest (Casey Gold)

Not only is this a great way to get employees involved and boost moral, it also helps advertise the company’s products through happy employees. This is all done through social media!

Baudville, the leading provider in day-to-day recognition and award solutions for schools and the workplace, is launching an Employee Appreciation Day Gifts contest on Pinterest, the social website that allows users to create virtual pin boards. The winner of the contest will receive $150 Baudville gift card to go toward their Employee Appreciation Day celebration.

Employee Appreciation Day is Friday March 2, 2012, and Baudville reminds managers that expressing appreciation for employee contributions increases morale, productivity, and employee engagement. Giving a tangible gift makes the appreciation more effective, too. Research by the University of Chicago had found that a tangible reward results in a greater performance uplift then a cash reward.

Employee Appreciation Day is a recognition holiday that allows managers to celebrate employee contributions in a fun and meaningful way,” said Baudville VP of Product and Merchandising Kristy Sherlund. “Giving a gift makes the recognition more effective and memorable.”

Baudville encourages managers and employers to start planning by pinning their favorite Baudville gift items. Using Pinterest, customers can find and share ideas for their employee celebration and become eligible for the Baudville prize.

To enter the contest, participants must have a Pinterest account and create a Baudville Employee Appreciation Day Gifts board. Links to the gift boards must be submitted by February 19, 2012 to Baudville via email at recognition(at)baudville(dot)com or on the Baudville Recognition at Work blog. The boards will be reviewed and judged by the Baudville social media and design teams based on creativity, pin descriptions, and gift selection. A winner will be announced by February 23, 2012.

“Our team has found great ideas and inspiration on Pinterest,” said Sherlund. “We want to share this resource with our customers by encouraging them to follow Baudville on Pinterest for employee appreciation ideas and cataloging their favorite ideas, too.”

Baudville celebrates Employee Appreciation Day annually with its employees and shares best practices online in the Recognition Resource Center and Recognition at Work blog.
